In 1971, Los Gatos embarked on a huge project:  an art and wine festival.  Other towns around the Bay Area were starting these popular events around the same era.  Some came and went, but the one in LG stayed as a fun and charming way to spend a day or weekend.

In 1996, the Kiwanis Club of Los Gatos took over production of the entire event.  Every single aspect of this fun community 'party' takes a lot of planning and hard work, spearheaded by Rusty Rinehart and Nancy Pearson.  Their expertise has gotten us to where we are today, with this event being the 'go-to' for locals and tourists alike.  To note: every single cent that is made from the event goes right back into the community.  Things like Turn-Around Scholarships for local teens who have risen above difficult challenges to turn their lives around, get good grades and graduate with their peers.  For more examples, go to About Kiwanis Los Gatos...and for more details on the Fiesta de Artes, otherwise known as the Los Gatos Art & Wine Festival, go to www.losgatosfiesta.com.
