In 1971, Los Gatos embarked on a huge project: an art and wine festival. Other towns around the Bay Area were starting these popular events around the same era. Some came and went, but the one in LG stayed as a fun and charming way to spend a day or weekend.
In 1996, the Kiwanis Club of Los Gatos took over production of the entire event. Every single aspect of this fun community 'party' takes a lot of planning and hard work, spearheaded by Rusty Rinehart and Nancy Pearson. Their expertise has gotten us to where we are today, with this event being the 'go-to' for locals and tourists alike. To note: every single cent that is made from the event goes right back into the community. Things like Turn-Around Scholarships for local teens who have risen above difficult challenges to turn their lives around, get good grades and graduate with their peers.
